Tyler Hoechlin to return as Superman in Supergirl season finale
Following the announcements that Manu Bennett and Katrina Law would be returning to Arrow for the upcoming season 5 finale, E! reports that Tyler Hoechlin will return to Supergirl for the season 2 finale, reprising his role of Superman. The season 2 finale of Supergirl is set to air on May 22 on The CW.
Supergirl is still on hiatus but will return April 24 with an all-new episode. Titled “Ace Reporter,” the episode is officially described as follows:
“Lena’s (guest star Katie McGarth) ex-boyfriend, Jack Spheer (guest star Rahul Kohli), comes to National City to unveil his big breakthrough in nano-technology, which has the potential to eradicate all diseases. Lena asks Kara to attend Jack’s conference with her for support. When Kara sees Snapper (guest Star Ian Gomez) in attendance she’s inspired to tap back into her reporter skills and questions Jack on his discovery, which ultimately leads to a bigger investigation that puts everyone in danger.”

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist in the title role, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater. Supergirl season two has also featured recurring roles for Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer, and Lynda Carter, star of the ’70s Wonder Woman series, as the President of the United States.
