First look at Gotham’s new Poison Ivy
Following the character portraits that debuted this weekend, FOX and WBTV (via TV Insider) have released another Gotham portrait, this time for the new Poison Ivy, set to be played by Maggie Geha. Previously played by Clare Foley in the first two seasons of the series, Ivy will be undergoing a transformation in the new season which they describe as follows:
“Following an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, Ivy Pepper finds herself reborn, and one step closer to the DC villain she is destined to become: Poison Ivy. Now a 19-year-old woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms, she sets her sights on Bruce Wayne.”
Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Michael Chiklis as Detective Nathaniel Barnes, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman, Cory Michael Smith as Edward nygma/the future Riddler, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, and Jamie Chung as Valerie Vale, the aunt of future Batman love interest Vicki Vale.
New villains from the Batman lore are set to be present for the new season including The Court of Owls, Mad Hatter (The Walking Dead‘s Benedict Samuel), Solomon Grundy, and more. In addition, the new season will also see Poison Ivy undergoing a change with the character now set to be played by Maggie Geha, taking over for Clare Foley who played the character in the first two seasons of the series. It was revealed that the character finds herself “reborn as a 19-year-old woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms and sets her sights on Bruce Wayne.”
