Marvel Studios Comic-Con 2016 Panel Live Blog

After sitting out Hall H last year for a presentation at D23 Expo a month later, Marvel Studios is back in San Diego for another one of their anticipated panels starting at 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time. Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige and special guests will provide an inside look at the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe. Stay tuned for our live blog of the Marvel Studios Comic-Con panel below!

The two films we know for sure that will be there are director Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange, opening on November 4, 2016, and James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, coming to theaters on May 5, 2017. Those are the next two films on Marvel Studios’ schedule, but could we also get some surprises for Spider-Man: Homecoming (July 7, 2017) and Thor: Ragnarok (November 3, 2017)? Also coming in 2018 are Black Panther (February 16, 2018), Avengers: Infinity War Part I (May 4, 2018), and Ant-Man and the Wasp (July 6, 2018).

Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe. Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen, Tilda Swinton, Scott Adkins, Amy Landecker, and Benedict Wong star.

Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell.
