More Spider-Man Cast Members Added, Plus New Set Photos

Production continues to chug along on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and even more cast members have been added to the roster with Better Call Saul actor Michael Mando and Fargo actor Bokeem Woodbine both joining the ensemble, the latter of which is said to be playing a villain (whether that means a named ne’er-do-well from Spider-Man lore or a random bad guy remains to be seen).

In addition, even more photos from the set of the film have debuted online via Just Jared and feature Tom Holland’s Peter Parker wearing a T-Shirt that reads “If you believe in telekensis, raise my hand,” fitting since he just met the Scarlet Witch in this summer’s Captain America: Civil War. You can check out more of those by clicking here.

Finally, Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Motion Picture Group Tom Rothman sat down with The Hollywood Reporter for an extended interview and the topic of the wall crawler naturally came up. When asked if Sony was still interested in pursuing a whole ‘Spider-Man universe’ on film and continuing their relationship with Marvel, he replied:

“Yes to both those questions. It’s been fantastic, our relationship with Marvel.”

The Spider-Man: Homecoming cast includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Michael Keaton as a mystery villain (believed to be the Vulture), Logan Marshall-Green as a secondary villain, Kenneth Choi as Peter’s high school Principal and Zendaya as a character by the name of Michelle. There’s also mystery roles for Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., J.J. Totah, and Hannibal Burress.

“It really is a homecoming,” Tom Holland told the CinemaCon crowd during the film’s title announcement earlier this year, “because, throughout the movie, Peter is trying to find out who he is and where he belongs in this world.”

Scripted by Vacation writers and directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, Spider-Man: Homecoming will, according to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, feature characters from throughout the MCU.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into regular theaters and IMAX on July 7, 2017.
