Zack Snyder talks Justice League heroes in Batman v Superman, plus a new track from Hans Zimmer & Junkie XL’s soundtrack

Even though the release date for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is drawing near, some fans are already less concerned with the battle of the two titans the March 25 release touts and more with how it will lead us into an eventual pair of Justice League films. Case-in-point: Director/DC Films mastermind Zack Snyder has told the Hall of Justice Podcast (via io9) how BvS will dole out your first dose of Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg.

“As far as the other Justice League characters go, they play a very small role,” Snyder confirms. “It’s really just a whisper they exist. Except for Wonder Woman, we see her really well. But really the movie is about Batman and Superman. And we really take time with them and we really drill down on the why of them and what they stand for and their beliefs and them as characters. That’s pretty much the why of the movie. But again as I said, it does begin the conversation about these guys are out there.”

If you’re imagining how pumped you’re going to be when you see all these DC icons finally unite to battle the forces of evil, then perhaps listening to a sweeping, heroic new piece of music off the Batman v Superman soundtrack will help set the mood for you. Check out the track by Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL below, plus you can you can pre-order the album right here.

Snyder also commented on the separation of the movies and the popular DC TV shows.

“As opposed to trying to shoehorn all these storylines into a single universe, we let the characters exist in a multi-universe, and it’s a lot more fun, and a lot more value for the audience. [Fans] get to see their favorite, most beloved characters on different adventures at the same time in different universes. It makes it a lot more fun, we get to go in different directions at the same time. I’m like a kid in a candy store with this incredible opportunity. It’s really fun. It couldn’t be any better.”

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, joined by Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Jason Momoa will also be making an appearance as Aquaman.
