Adaptation of Mark Millar’s Superior Gets a Pair of Writers

Mark Millar’s Superior film enlists two writers for script duties

Variety reports that 20th Century Fox has brought on writers Brandon and Phillip Murphy, whose spec script The Bringing landed on the 2014 Black List, to pen the adaptation of the Mark Millar comic series Superior for the big screen. Longtime Millar collaborator Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kick-Ass) will produce the film along with Tarquin Pack

Created by Millar and Leinil Francis Yu in 2010, the seven-issue series is officially described as follows:

“Simon Pooni had it all going for him – plenty of friends at school and good looks, and his coach called him one of the most talented basketball players he’s ever seen. But that was when he could still move his legs. Now, he’s living with multiple sclerosis, missing all the little things he used to take for granted, and escaping into the world of movies and comics with his best friend. Then…SUPERIOR entered his life.”

Superior joins the other Millar-penned titles that are currently in development at Fox, including Starlight, Nemesis and Kindergarten Heroes. Vaughn is also currently penning a sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service, an ironic turn since the source material has yet to receive a follow-up of its own, which is currently slated for summer 2017 release.
