The Full June 2015 DC Comics Solicitations

The full DC Comics solicitations for June 2015 have been released and, in the gallery viewer below, you can now check out all the artwork, synopses and product images for more than 130 different upcoming releases!

June will also offer a series of variant covers celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Joker. One of the covers, however, has already caused a bit of a stir. An homage to Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s “The Killing Joke” by Rafael Albuqerque was to be featured on a “Batgirl” #41 variant. Following complaints about the intensity of the image, DC has, at Albuquerque’s request, decided not to print the issue and issued the following statement:

We publish comic books about the greatest heroes in the world, and the most evil villains imaginable. The Joker variant covers for June are in recognition of the 75th anniversary of the Joker.

Regardless if fans like Rafael Albuquerque’s homage to Alan Moore’s “The Killing Joke” graphic novel from 25 years ago, or find it inconsistent with the current tonality of the Batgirl books – threats of violence and harassment are wrong and have no place in comics or society.

We stand by our creative talent, and per Rafael’s request, DC Comics will not publish the Batgirl variant.
