TNT Nabs Network Television Premiere Rights to Five Upcoming Marvel Studios Films, Including Avengers: Age of Ultron

We’re still eight months away from the theatrical release of the next Marvel Studios picture, Avengers: Age of Ultron, but TNT has already snatched up the network television premiere rights to the film along with the following four Marvel Studios releases. Expected to premiere roughly two years after their theatrical debut, the deal also includes the upcoming Ant-Man, Captain America 3, and two yet-to-be-named films slated for release on July 8, 2016 and May 5, 2017.

“Marvel’s brand of entertainment is a thrill ride for audiences, and we’re excited to be adding their next five blockbusters to TNT’s arsenal of high-quality genre fare,” said Deborah K. Bradley, senior vice president, head of program acquisitions, content strategy and licensing for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. “These movies will play a key role in TNT’s long-term success, especially among key adult demos.”

Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in theaters May 1, 2015, followed by Ant-Man on July 17, 2015, and Captain America 3 on May 6, 2016, so get your DVRs ready.
