Captain Boomerang Heads to The CW’s Arrow

Starling City is about to get a visit from Captain Boomerang. The DC Comics villain (who technically doesn’t have any superpowers, but who is an expert with the Australian weapon) is set to appear on the upcoming third season of “Arrow.” According to EW, “Spartacus” star Nick Tarabay will play the role of George “Digger” Harkness.

Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino, Captain Boomerang made his first appearance in 1960’s “The Flash” #117. There’s likely to be some tie between the new take on the character and Central City’s scarlet speedster as Tarabay is supposed to debut in the seventh episode of season three and then return for the eighth, which also marks the “Arrow” half of the upcoming “Arrow” and “The Flash” two-hour crossover event.

The character of Captain Boomerang recently played a major role in the animated feature film, Batman: Assault on Arkham.

Starring Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Colton Haynes, Willa Holland, Paul Blackthorne, and John Barrowman, “Arrow” airs Wednesdays at 8 P.M. ET/PT on The CW with the new season set to premiere on October 8.
