This Friday will see the release of Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. highly-anticipated reboot of Godzilla, and while we've seen a number of images and videos of the king of the monster as he will appear in the film, we've got some sneak peeks at other designs that were created as potential candidates.
As seen in the "Godzilla: The Art of Destruction" making-of book, itself an exhaustive look the production process by way of on-set photography, storyboards and, best of call, concept art, the book features a centerpiece spread that readers can fold out that contains various designs for Godzilla. The concept pieces come with a commentary by Edwards, who explains what worked and what didn't. You can find some of these "alternate" designs below and head over to our sister site ShockTillYouDrop.com to check out the rest!
Opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX theaters, Godzilla stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston. An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, the spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.
