As Marvel Comics kick off their reboot initiative All-New Marvel NOW! (you can read our reviews of the first new series by clicking here), it seems they show no signs of stopping that train as The AP reports that Marvel’s “Ultimate Comics” line, which began as its own universe 14 years ago, will be undergoing a reboot this April. Following the events of the “Cataclysm” mini-series currently being published, the line will be reduced to just three ongoing titles, but will feature some interesting match-ups.
“They’re able to win the day, but at great sacrifice, a sacrifice that is so huge that it changes the entire landscape,” writer Brian Michael Bendis said. “It creates a place that demands a fresh start from everyone who surveys it.”
In keeping with tradition, Marvel will be titling the line-wide relaunch “Ultimate Marvel NOW!” and the titles included will be Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by David Marquez, Ultimate FF written by Joshua Hale Fialkov and drawn by Mario Guevara, and All-New Ultimates written by Michel Fiffe and drawn by Amilcar Pinna.
Ultimate FF will see the debut of the “Future Foundation” in the Ultimate universe and will consists of a team including Sue Storm, Tony Stark and others, including one character described as a “psychopath.”
All-New Ultimates is another brand new team book, this one consisting of Miles Morales, Black Widow, Kitty Pryde, Bombshell, and Cloak and Dagger.
Ultimate Marvel NOW! begins this April. Will you be picking up the titles they relaunch?
