Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man Won’t Shoot in the UK

England has been a bit of a favorite spot for Marvel Studios, having shot many of their films there, including Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor: The Dark World, as well as the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy. The studio also shows no signs of stopping UK productions either with Avengers: Age of Ultron set to begin production there next year. Ironically though, their only upcoming film from a British director won’t be shot across the pond, Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man.

Speaking with ScreenDaily, Wright had this to say about the production: “Ironically, Ant Man was meant to shoot in London but London is full because I guess that Pinewood extension got turned down.”

It is unclear where production on the film might set-up shop, but shooting is expected to begin in mid-2014.

Walt Disney Pictures has scheduled a July 31, 2015 release for the film, which was written by Wright and Joe Cornish.
