Bryan Singer Reveals New Details About X-Men: Days of Future Past

The Fantasia International Film Festival held their special event “An Evening with Bryan Singer” last night where the director showed the Comic-Con footage from and spoke about the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. In his discussion (via JoBlo), he revealed some new details about the film and confirmed others.

Singer first revealed that the Scarlet Witch will not be present in the film, seemingly making Quicksilver, played by Evan Peters, an only child. He also confirmed earlier reports that Josh Helman is playing a younger William Stryker.

The most interesting thing about Singer’s discussion was in his pseudo-reveal regarding Charles Xavier’s return. Having said he was disappointed he couldn’t bring Cyclops back for the film, he revealed that he could justify the return of Xavier because “he transferred his consciousness and could possibly construct a body around that consciousness.” Xavier’s return was teased at the end of X-Men: The Last Stand and now makes a little bit more sense after Singer laid out those details.

Coming to theaters on May 23, 2014, X-Men: Days of Future Past stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters, Josh Helman and Lucas Till.
