Payne graduated from UCLA with a Masters degree in screenwriting and wrote for several different sitcoms in the ’90s. He began working for “The Simpsons” in the year 2000 and wrote sixteen episodes of the series, some of which were nominated for Writers Guild of America awards. His other feature credits include My Super Ex-Girlfriend and the upcoming Maximum Ride.
