Manu Bennett has been given quite a promotion on the CW’s Arrow. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that he has been promoted to a series regular for the show’s second season. He joins Colton Haynes, who plays Roy Harper, and Emily Bett Rickards, who plays Felicity Smoak, as series regulars for the next season.
Bennett’s character, Slade Wilson, has been an ally to Oliver Queen during his time on the island. It remains to be seen if he’ll ever become the villanous Deathstroke from the comic books or catch up with Queen in Starling City in the present, both of which could be possibilities for the second season.
Arrow‘s first season is in the home stretch now with the second season set to air this fall. It stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance. The show airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
