Jeffrey Reiner to Direct The Sixth Gun Pilot

Deadline is reporting that television director Jeffrey Reiner has been brought on to direct the pilot for The Sixth Gun, an adaptation of the Oni Press comic book series. NBC is producing the show with LOST co-creator Carlton Cuse and screenwriter Ryan Condal executive producing. Reiner is no stranger to comic book adaptations as he directed the pilot for David E. Kelley’s failed Wonder Woman in 2011.

The Sixth Gun, created by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt, is described as follows:

“During the darkest days of the Civil War, wicked cutthroats came into possession of six pistols of otherworldly power. In time the Sixth Gun, the most dangerous of the weapons, vanished. When the gun surfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, dark forces reawaken. Vile men thought long dead set their sights on retrieving the gun and killing the girl. Only Drake Sinclair, a gunfighter with a shadowy past, stands in their way.”
