Nickelodeon just launched their reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and it performed great. The series premiered Saturday, September 29th, and throughout it’s premiere weekend garnered 12 million viewers. The show premiered as the week’s top telecast with kids 2-11 (6.2/2.1 million) and boys 6-11 (8.2/837,000) across broadcast and cable TV, and was the number one kids program on basic cable with total viewers (drawing 3.9 million) for the week. With the positive response to the show, Nickelodeon has ordered 26 more episodes of the series to be shown next year.
The series stars Jason Biggs (Leonardo), Sean Astin (Raphael), Rob Paulsen (Donatello), Greg Cipes (Michelangelo), Mae Whitman (April O’Neil), Hoon Lee (Master Splinter) and Kevin Michael Richardson (Shredder).
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is premiering globally across Nickelodeon’s channels around the world.
