In an interview with Omelete (via Collider), Marvel producer extraordinaire Victoria Alonso was talking all about Ant-Man along with the possibilities of when it will go in front of cameras. Here is a rough translation of what she said: “Edgar is on board the project. He will make another film before [The World’s End], a project he had undertaken to do. But he wrote a great script. And hopefully it will soon work with us.”
Now what about that test footage that they screened at Comic-Con? Will that ever get out?
“What we showed at Comic-Con was a video still unfinished and we are working to finalize it. And I think you should see it, but do not know where yet. We always hear what the fans are saying and doing everything to meet what they ask. I do not know if we’ll publish it online , but I have no reason to imagine that is not a good way. If that’s what the fans want….”
Trust us, it’s what the fans want.
Not that much is known about the film version of Ant-Man at this point except that Edgar Wright will of course be directing and that he has co-written a script with Joe Cornish that everyone is “really happy with.” Marvel Studios is rumored to be looking at starting production next year for a 2014 release.
