Comics: Artist Announced for Django Unchained Comic

At Comic-Con this year, it was announced that Quentin Tarantino’s entire screenplay for Django Unchained would be adapted into a five issue mini-series by DC comics, the first issue of which will be available just three weeks before the film’s Christmas release date. Little has been said about the comic since then, but now we’ve got word via AICN that the artist for the series will be none other than Scalped artist R.M. Guera.

The comic will include the entire script for the film and will feature all the details that Tarantino will unfortunately have to cut out of the film.

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, the film and comic focus on Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz. Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.
