The Amazing Spider-Man Wants You to Hunt the Lizard

Proving to be one of the most comprehensive film virals to date, the ARG for The Amazing Spider-Man has delivered quite a few updates this morning, spread across a number of different “in-game” sites, all leading to the suggestion that an event is planned for this Friday, May 11th.

We reported earlier today on a new website, Jerera’s Boxing Gym that was referenced on special posters mailed to those who participated in the viral by sending in photos of Spider-Man to webbedmenace.com. At that site, there’s mention that Jerera’s is funding the wrestling team at Peter Parker’s Midtown Science High School.

The high school site offers quite a few new images, including a good look at the film’s Flash Thompson (played by Chris Zylka). The site also contains a password-protected student login page, which has already been cracked thanks to “GuestUser17” at the Unfiction Forums”. Applying a simple alpha-numeric key (A=1, B=2, C=3 and so on) to the mathematical formula found on the below image posted today at ParkersPOV.com, the words “PPARKER” and “DEEPFOCUS” are revealed.

Using “PPARKER” as the login and “DEEPFOCUS” as the password on the MSHS site, Peter Parker’s class schedule is uncovered.

Plugging “Vulnerability” back into the POV site then leads us to ParkersPOV.com/vulnerability and a family photo of young Peter with his parents (note the fingers on Peter’s right hand).

But it doesn’t end there! Back at the MSHS site, a seperate section offers a downloadable newsletter with articles on both Spider-Man and The Lizard along with the suggestion that readers join @scaleseeker on a hunt this Friday in Los Angeles, NYC, Atlanta, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Austin, Tampa, Minneaplis or New Orleans with full details to be revealed in the near future. Keep checking back for updates as they become available!

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field, The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters on July 3rd.
