Fan-cast for a role in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises long before the official announcement, few batted an eye when word arrived that Marion Cotillard's character was named Miranda Tate and would be a board member at Wayne Enterprises.
Immediately, speculation began that Tate was an alias for a different character much more familiar to comic book readers (We won't mention the name here in case of spoilers, but those inclined can read about a surprise addition to the cast that seemed to lend some credence to those theories).
Last night, MTV News spoke with Cotillard on the red carpet for her latest, Contagion, and tried glean a few details from the tight-lipped actress, who insisted that her character has no connection to existing Batman comic books. Is she telling the truth or is she covering up to preserve the reveal?
