Marvel Studios is moving incrementally forward with a feature film version of Dr. Strange. Twitch is reporting that the latest draft for the project has been turned in and that Marvel Studios is preparing a short list of potential directors.
Based on the character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, the film would focus on Dr. Stephen Strange, a surgeon who trains in the mystic arts to become the world's Sorcerer Supreme.
Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer (responsible for the upcoming Conan the Barbarian and a draft of Cowboys & Aliens) have written the project, though it is still possible that further rewrites may be required.
Though it's hardly proof that Dr. Strange is next up on Marvel's slate, the character was teased earlier this year in Thor, with Strange's Orb of Agamotto appearing as one of the artifacts in Odin's vault.
