Iron Man 2 Sets New Theater Count Record

Paramount Pictures will be releasing Iron Man 2 in 4,380 theaters on Friday in North America, which breaks The Dark Knight‘s previous record of 4,366 theaters.

Will the highly-anticipated sequel be able to surpass The Dark Knight‘s opening record of $158.4 million as well?

The film started opening in international theaters on April 28th and has already collected $121.1 million overseas.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the movie stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Favreau, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling, John Slattery and Clark Gregg.
