Different to say the least. I can just here the traditionalist howling.
Just like we do here.

I personally cannot wait for this movie. It's really looking like a fantastic film. I know it's only trailers and stuff, but awesome none the less. I will be in line early for this film. I also agree that they could not have picked a better Holmes.

That dog show, an English Bulldog, would have looked a lot different back then. Should have used another breed for movie. Although i guess there is no other breed which shouts Englang, quite like a Bulldog. As for the film, RDJ is a great actor, but so wrong as Holmes. Jude Law has more of a physical resemblance to Sherlock Holmes. Adrian Brody would have been a better match. But if you pretend that the movie is not a Sherlock film, then looks great fun.

I've been a huge Sherlock Holmes fan for over 30 years, and I would say I', fairly "'traditional" (so much so that I don't like Basil Rathbone as much as some others), but I don't have a problem with this movie. It's another interpretation, just like Nick Meyer's books reinvented certain ideas about Holmes.

I think it's going to be a good film, and an entertaining time. I'm really looking forward to it. This featurette made me more excited.
