Sam Worthington to Star in American Crime
November 19, 2009
Sam Worthington (upcoming Avatar and Clash of the Titans) will star in an adaptation of Radical Publishing's "The Last Days of American Crime," reports Mania. Here's how Radical describes the title:
From critically-acclaimed writer, Rick Remender, comes a fast-paced, futuristic crime story.
In the not-too-distant future as a final response to terrorism and crime, the U.S. government plans in secret to broadcast a signal making it impossible for anyone to knowingly commit unlawful acts. To keep this from the public, the government creates a distraction, installing a new currency system using digital charge cards.
Enter: Graham Brick. A career criminal never quite able to hit the big score, Graham intends to steal one of the charging stations, skip the country and live off unlimited funds for the rest of his life. But the media has leaked news of the anti-crime signal one week before it was to go live...and now Graham and his team have just a few days to turn the crime of the century into the last crime in American history.
Remender is writing the screenplay for the film.

sounds cool. Sam is getting some good work. His agent must be amazing.

I'm intrigued.
There's a fine line though, seems like this is something that needs to be directed very tastefully.

@ drake
Yeah, I got to admit Sam Worthington literally came out of nowhere and became this wonderful actor that is getting top billing in just about every single talked about production in Hollywood.
He was easily the best part of "Terminator: Salvation." I'm looking forward to seeing him in James Cameron's "Avatar." And "Clash of the Titans" seems awesome. And now this? Wow. You're right: His agent must be amazing. But I think that Sam's talent as an actor is even more amazing.

Sam Worthington is hot.

His agent certainly has more talent than Sam does. He can't even do an American accent he darn near ruined Terminator:Salvation. He also couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag.
Why are movie studios so hard up to make movies out of comics that a dozen people have read. I'd much rather see an Aquaman movie.

hollywood is in love with australian actors
thanks to russell crow
he would not do x-men, enter hugh jackman
james cameron wanted some one like them so he hire him for avatar
then he call the director of terminator and sam got the part that bale did not want, (bale was suppose to be the terminator)
so sam went in and was free publicity for james cameron's avatar
sam will be like , collin from 5 -6 years ago or shia 2-3 years ago, he is going to be in everything, he has to cash on the fame (which is not forever)
unless you are angelina jolie and adopts children from all over the world
