Zoe Saldana on The Losers

Star Trek and Avatar star Zoe Saldana talked briefly to ComingSoon.net about playing Aisha in The Losers:

"She's a blend of [Star Trek's] Uhura and [Avatar's] Neytiri," Saldana said. "Toss in a couple of guns and some tattoos - she's really badass. At times I was kind of afraid of her. I don't know why it's a PG-13 movie to be honest."

She co-stars in the April 9 film with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, Columbus Short, Holt McCallany, Oscar Jaenada, Jason Patric and Peter Macdissi. Sylvain White directs Warner Bros.' adaptation of the comics.

This is going to be one of the best films of the year!

Guarantee it.

Good cast, Zoe & Chris Evans! Looks cool too! I'm there!

I must be top 5 as well. KOOL!

I'm not familiar with The Losers, but Saldana is freakin' great. She'd be my second choice to play Susannah in the inevitable adaptation of The Dark Tower (after Rutina Wesley).

DC should make films out of ALL of their Vertigo titles. The films themselves would be a mix of Tarantino, Hitchcock, and Lynch type tastes no doubt.

I hope they make a film version of Howard Chaykin and Dave Tischman's "American Century" comic series. That would be an EPIC franchise of adult-themed-comic-book films. No doubt.

And am I the only one who see the Harry Potter novels as nothing more than carbon copies of Tim Hunter and his Books of Magic?

I mean, the Tim Hunter stories came out WELL BEFORE any of the Potter books even hit publication. *rubs chin* Interesting.

ALL the Vertigo titles? I certainly have no interest in watching Sandman get mercilessly butchered in a transition to the big screen.

@ Ozzie

We live in a time were CGI can make the impossible possible, the unfilmable filmable, and where there exists a strange hybrid of fanboy's and quality movie directors. I can easily see Peter Jackson or Gullermo Del Toro, even Alfonso Cuaron taking on Sandman.

looking forward to this just as much as any comicbookfilm.... it looks like a good tactic from W.B to delay batman3 show the public some underground hits from D.C vertigo ....Zoe is vey much up and coming with a great cast.... film could be a stealth hit...nothing but respect for W.B most daring comicfilm titles of 08/09 TDK Watchmen Losers hopefully losers will be half the film of watchmen or TDK...this is what u call real comic film making

I had never heard of this comic before and wasn't exactly thrilled when they announced the movie, but something about this project just has me excited! I can't quite put my finger on it, but I'm really looking forward to this movie!

How can a skinny little woman be badass?

Zoe Saldana is fine. She's great in everything she does. Sad that Marvel will never get to make a proper X-Men movie. Zoe Saldana could have played Storm.

She looks COMPLETELY AMAZING!!! She even looks alot like the Avatar! I was really excited to hear that she was the pick for the film, its a welcome change from the flood of Angelina Jolie and the other carbon copies that have been bombarding the screen lately.

To be honest I'm not familiar with "Losers" but just reading about it, it doesn't seem the type to be pg-13. Am I wrong?

Zoe is hot tambien!
