The Kick-Ass Teaser Trailer!
Source:Lionsgate
November 10, 2009

The teaser trailer for the Matthew Vaughn-directed comic book adaptation Kick-Ass has come online and can be watched using the player below or in High Definition QuickTime at MySpace.com! Opening April 16th, the action-adventure stars Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Lyndsy Fonseca, Mark Strong, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz.

Based on the comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., Kick-Ass tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name -- Kick-Ass -- assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There's only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.

His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Cage).

The movie looks like ****e basically imo. And I am so not digging a vilgilante team comprised of a pre-teen girl and her dad,
I'll pass on this too.

WIN!

I love the comic but what the hell was that?! I don't care if those we exact frames from the comic pages. It looked like a god damn Disney film. They better release a better trailer and drop the tween rocker song.

Posted by: Rob on November 10, 2009 at 22:58:17

Tween rocker song? Isn't "Bad Reputation" like nearly 30 year old Joan Jett song?

The teaser looks good. Could've been longer, but it's doing what a teaser does, tease.

As far as the "Disney" tone... Not seeing it. Looks and feels just like the comic. I think that the bright colors will be very easily offset by the ultra-violence. I think that there's supposed to be that sort of juxtaposition between what fanboys like Red Mist & Kick-Ass think superheroes are supposed to be like and the gritty, bloody lives they'd actually lead in the real world. I think that, because of the green band nature of the trailer, this isn't coming across. The leaked red-band trailer from Comic Con portrayed this very well.

Posted by: At Mr Glass..... on November 10, 2009 at 23:36:04

Disney film? Lolz at your ineptitude. This has more blood and cursing than Pulp Fiction. I've seen the multiple trailers online comicbookmovie(dot)com (been there for months) like a real comic fan would do before talking out their ass (like you). Fail epically by you. Noted and logged into interwebs Fail history for all to Lollerskate to at their leisure. Bwahahahaha!
