Ryan Condal to Pen Queen & Country
August 23, 2009
Ryan Condal has been hired to write the script for Queen & Country, the action franchise that is set up at 20th Century Fox.
The Hollywood Reporter says the project, based on Greg Rucka's Oni Press comic, centers on a female Special Ops agent who is on the run after carrying out a high-level assassination in Eastern Europe.
John Moore had previously penned a draft of "Country." Nicole Kidman at one point was attached to the project.

I find it quite amusing how you start off with two oscar winning actresses being suggested for the role, and then someone suggests the latest no talent bimbo.
It didn't take long to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

This is something I've always wanted to read. Maybe now I will.

*Sigh**** I am getting tired of spy/military movies. Can someone please come up with something new?

Change the title of the website to "Comic Book Hype" Most the posts have nothing to do with superheroes. Does anyone actually read these titles? Hollywood is really desperate for source material.

Just read Resurrection and that was a GREAT Oni title! I got the first Queen and Country trade a while ago but haven't read it yet, one of these days...and I'm all for turning good comics into film but I would definitely echo the desire for something original (like District 9).

Thank you SuperHeroHype for posting all these great breaking stories about all things comic book related. People will act like it pisses them off, but the majority would agree that comic based properties being turned into film is just as important to us as just superhero movies, we care just as much for non-superhero as superhero characters from our beloved books, keep up the good work! I can't WAIT for a Q&C flick! Besides, Superheroes don't always have to have powers to be a superhero, they are just people who dedicate their lives to the helping of others...would any of you sit there and say that it's stupid to have news about Batman movies on this site since he doesn't have superpowers? If anything SHH has always just been a site about "MULTIMEDIA NEWS FOR GEEKS" and I'm thankful for that. If it weren't for this site I wouldn't know half the things I do about upcoming films and TV series that pertain to our demographic. We're genre lovers, and we thank you and the other great sites in the Coming Soon network! If someone wants to complain about the site...good luck trying to find a better one! SHH IS THE BEST ON THE NET PERIOD, THANKS SHH!

Hey, moron, I mean Zene, I mean moron. You don't have to watch them. So, why get tired of them? Nobody is forcing you to watch them and there really aren't that many out there. I hate people like you that b*tch about this movie and that but in the end you don't have to watch them. So, how, again, do you get tired of them? Tired of reading news about them? Seeing trailers? Well, you don't have to read or watch those, respectively, either.
Shut up.

Hey Nunya I mean no sense of class... Keep spending your money on ideas that have been done over and over and you will keep getting just that. Nuff said.

Old, new, who gives a crap? Q&C is one of the best comic series around, and if they're shooting for someone who's around the same age as Tara Chace, it should be Emily Blunt. Give her blonde hair and she's perfect. She was looking to be Natasha Romanoff anyway. I would think that it would be a better show for HBO or Showtime... even FX would be a good station. Get David Thewlis or even though it's a scheduling impossibility, Hugh Laurie would be perfect for Paul Crocker. After watching TRUE BLOOD, Stephen Moyer would be a great choice for Tom Wallace.
But seriously, get over yourselves. Most people don't ***** about Shakespeare productions being redone. Comic books are just another great previously untapped resource for great entertainment on film or television.

I have an idea that has never been done before. The title of the story is Adrift. Certain aspects of this tale have been done but not in the way thay I have planned. If you can hack my my mind you can see it now for free. Otherwise you will probably have to wait forever because I am a fat, old, lazy geek.
