Is it me or does anyone think that this film's gonna be a letdown?

Posted by: Sgt. Kill on April 13, 2009 at 01:48:18

This movie is gonna pure ****. It's all pure ****. Nothing's what it used to be anymore. Things have changed, things always change. And where was the government? Where were our "leaders" when those changes took place? It's all ****.

Its not just you, Not First. I'm sure there are a lot of communists out there who probably don't even like comics, much less a movie BASED on them.

I'm quite excited. I can recognize the difference between 2 completely different mediums. So I'm pretty sure I'm gonna enjoy the film no matter what.

It's You.

Sgt Kill. It IS gonna be pure win* I'm glad some agree with me.

*=To the infinite power.

Sgt. Kill, it sounds like you were drunk while typing that comment. Are you some sort of war veteran? And Gambit looks ****ing awesome!

Wraith suks...the real surprises are going to be Sabertooth & Gambit

Posted by: Greg Slaughter on April 13, 2009 at 02:25:09

I'm stoked.

We've had 3 movies, so they've taken liberties to remain consistent with the first 3... but since it is a spin-off, I wouldn't be surprised to see inconsistencies just to please the fans.

Anyone have an opinion on this "Wraith" character?

Yay from this Wolvy fan!

I love the hype for posting this news, but unfortunately it's not accessible from my region hotlinked directly from MTV.
Anyone know of a way to deal with that?
Or a place where these are posted off the link?

The idea that this film will probably earn double what Watchmen earned makes me weep inside.

Posted by: Yup.... on April 13, 2009 at 02:36:41

@scortia

Well you have to take into account that Wolverine IS a very famous character and that this movie IS full of action and explosions, which is why people didn't like Watchmen, they taught that they were gonna get another superhero movie full of explosions and CGI and instead they got a movie that actually made them think. Which is why Transformers was the top grossing film of 2007.

Wade Wilson is Deadpool's actual name. I've looked up Wraith in my Marvel Dictionary and the one in the dictionary is an android/cyborg. Not a teleporting black dude. No story or character links that I could find. I'm still trying to find info on the main chick.

I was unaware that the first X-Men movies were based primarily on the Ultimate series. I recently read that series and I have to say it calmed a lot of my unhappiness with the movies. I'm an Uncanny man myself. My X-Men are the Jim Lee X-Men of the early to mid 90's. I loved the movies but was left confused by much. I'm wondering where the Origin stories are going fit in. What universe's tale will be told?

5 acts of begging people to see wolverine: origins. why is this movie coming out

Posted by: Abe on April 13, 2009 at 02:53:29

Not surprised they changed Deadpool's name to Wade for this promo, after seeing what happens in the movie thanks to the leaked copy.

Posted by: Sean William Scotch on April 13, 2009 at 03:12:42

My favorite times were the John Byrne/70s-early 80s era.

Even though this movie isn't hardly even close to the true marvel universe, I believe it has the spirit.

Or maybe I'm just insane and making stuff up again. Who knows.

Posted by: Timstuff on April 13, 2009 at 03:14:35

Fox has certainly done a good job dressing up this film for advertising, but I don't think that's going to save it from the bad word of mouth. It's all over the internet that this movie is a mediocre mess and that they royally effed up Deadpool (Wade was good, but as soon as they turned him into a lame multi-powered video game boss monster he sucked). This movie sucks, and I think the box office will reflect that.

Posted by: riderishot on April 13, 2009 at 03:25:21

my advice wait til it hit dvd

Posted by: Sean William Scotch on April 13, 2009 at 03:33:06

Rider/Timsstuffinyourmouth. You haven't even seen the movie. If you say you have by watching the 'workprint', you're basically saying "I drew a complete and ridiculous conclusion of an unfinished movie by watching that workprint." Wait until the movie comes out in theaters. In it's entirety.

After it's release, you can start spreading your '2 cents' of silliness. Stop being a negative nancy.

Posted by: chris on April 13, 2009 at 04:02:54
