Ultimate Super Heroes, Villains and Vixens

April 21, 2005

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Bravo's three-part special "Ultimate Super Heroes, Ultimate Super Villains, Ultimate Super Vixens." The series premieres Thursday, May 26 (10-11 p.m. EST) and will air the same bat time, same bat channel for three consecutive nights.

Narrated by one of television's classic super heroes Adam West, who portrayed Batman in the hit TV series, Bravo's upcoming special celebrates the heroes, villains and vixens who have created powerful impressions on fans throughout the years. More than 50 experts, ranging from comic book creators to filmmakers and producers to the actors who brought these characters to life, were consulted for the formation of the super-powered top 20 countdown lists in each category.

The super heroes, super villains and super vixens were chosen from characters who have appeared in comic books, movies, television, and/or video games. All choices were based on the characters' longevity, their iconic pop-culture status, and their overall "cool factor." Comic buffs won't want to miss celebrities dishing on the ins and outs of their favorite characters, including Lou Ferrigno discussing The Hulk's relatable human side and Mark Hamill talking about his total commitment to creating the fantasy that surrounded "Star Wars."

With a combination of cutting edge graphics, film clips, celebrity and expert interviews, Bravo's "Ultimate Super Heroes" specials look at the popularity and longevity of each list topper. Exclusive interviews include actress Vivica A. Fox (Batman & Robin, Kill Bill: Vol. 1"), comic book writer Stan Lee ("X-Men," "Spider-Man," "Fantastic Four"), actor Hal Sparks (Spider-Man 2), director Bryan Singer (X-Men, X-Men 2), actor Bill Mumy ("Twilight Zone," "Babylon 5"), comic book writer Todd McFarlane ("Spawn"), actor Mark Hamill ("Star Wars"), actor Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk) and Chairman/CEO Marvel Studios Avi Arad (X-Men, Daredevil, Elektra).

"Ultimate Super Heroes, Ultimate Super Villains, Ultimate Super Vixens" is produced by Prometheus Entertainment and Fox Television Studios in association with Bravo.

I HATE IT WHEN THEY COME OUT WITH THESE LAME LIST AND PUT BATMAN AT THE TOP OF A "SUPERHERO" LIST....HE'S A CRIME FIGHTER NOTHING MORE. HE HAS NO SUPER POWERS. THE LAMEST SUPERHERO COULD TAKE HIM....ANTMAN FOR GODSAKE COULD TAKE HIM IN A BAR FIGHT.

This has got to be the WORST list of Heroes, Villains, and Super vixens. Austin Powers, Indian a Jones, The Mask, Men in Black, Luke Skywalker, James Bond are not a Super Hero. Why can't they just leave a list of this mag. to the real superheros. The Comic book fans need to pick them NOT some hollywood exc. who doesn't know what the inside of a comic book store even looks like. Granted most are filled with fat guys who are in their 40's living with their parents and play D&D but they DO know their comics. Leave it to the REAL FANS!!!

Umm... What? Whoever typed this up screwed it up badly. They mixed up The Joker and The Terminator. For the vixens Barb Wire was number 20, not The Bride. And Barbarella was 16. Red Sonja was 18, not Elektra (I didn't watch the rest of the supervixens). Indiana Jones was fifth, but James Bond was fourth, not third. Batman was third, Superman was second and Spider-man was first.

And S. CRAIG, Batman is a superhero. Superheroes are the heroes in the comic books that stop super villains and criminals. Even though Batman and his enemies don't have powers they're still considered superheroes and supervillains. I'm a huge Star Wars fan, but I'm not sure how Luke Skywalker counts as a superhero, nor how Vader and Jabba the Hutt are supervillains. They're villains in a MOVIE. Shouldn't this be kept to comic book heroes? It was a good special, though they did screw it up a little bit.

WTF? Elektra at number 18? She should be way up farther on the list. whoever made these lists obviously f*%ked up big time.

SWEET BUT WHERE IS SUPERGIRL??

Posted by: Angie G. on April 20, 2009 at 16:55:20

This list has obviously gotten a few things mixed up. First off, some of the guys/gals listed Supervillains and Supervixen lists includes a spy (Felicity Shagwell) a Serial killer/Canibal (Hanibal Lecture), Aliens and doll possessed by a dead guy (Chucky). Why in the hell are these folks on the list? They don't even have special powers.
