Reeve Carney, of rock band Carney, will play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Julie Taymor’s Broadway show “Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark,” producer Michael Cohl announced Friday. Carney has a role in Taymor’s upcoming drama, The Tempest.
The singer is joining a cast that includes Evan Rachel Wood as Mary Jane Watson and Alan Cumming in the role of Norman Osborn/Green Goblin.
The lavish musical is scheduled to open sometime in 2010 at the Hilton Theatre. The show will feature a score by Bono and The Edge of U2.
