Thom Beers, the producer behind the hit reality series “Ice Road Truckers,” “Deadliest Catch” and “Monster Garage,” will tackle zombie bikers in his first film and comic book project, reports Variety.
Beers’ Original Productions and comic book publisher Devil’s Due are moving forward with Chopper Zombie, about a motorcycle builder who refuses to sell his formula for a new superfuel to a dangerous corporation. When a team of thugs drowns him in his own toxic creation, he rises from the dead with a score to settle.
Todd Livingston (“The Black Forest,” “The Wicked West”) will pen the graphic novel, with Scott Keating (“Death and the Man Who Could Not Die,” “Elk’s Run”) handling the art.
Beers and Original president Philip Segal will produce the film, which they hope to put into production sometime next year.
Devil’s Due will launch the book at next week’s Comic-Con in San Diego alongside a custom zombie chopper assembled by “Monster Garage’s” creators. The title hits store shelves July 30.
