The Hollywood Reporter says that Spider-Man 2 ruled the charts last week:
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s “Spider-Man 2” led home video sales last week, capturing the No. 1 slot on both Nielsen VideoScan’s First Alert DVD and VHS sales weekly charts. The sequel has sold through more than 8 million combined DVD and VHS units during its first week on retail shelves, according to industry sources. The film, starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, also was the nation’s top rental title during the same frame, generating about $14.5 million in rental revenue, according to Video Store magazine’s weekly rental chart.
