Columbia Pictures’ Spider-Man 2 dropped an expected 47% its second weekend to make an estimated $46 million from 4,166 theaters and dominate the box office again. The $210 million-budgeted blockbuster sequel has already collected $257.3 million and climbed to the 28th spot on the all-time domestic blockbuster list. The film had also earned $55.3 million internationally by July 6th. The Spidey sequel took only 12 days to cross the $250 million mark, a new record. Previous record holder Shrek 2 took 13 days to reach the mark. Spider-Man 2 is also running well ahead of the first film, which had made $233 million through its first 12 days.
