The 10 Best Superhero Movie Supporting Characters

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (2011) & CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014)

Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell)

The very loud consensus among comic book fans of late seems to be the demand for a solo female superhero movie. While we’re still a few years away from Wonder Woman, Captain America’s girl Friday during his WWII heyday was the British intelligence agent Peggy Carter, who has rightly earned her own upcoming TV show. Fearless and capable, Atwell’s strong performance was an instant hit with fans, hence her short cameo as an aging Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, where she was mentioned as one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST (2014)

Peter Maximoff/Quicksilver (Evan Peters)

Joss Whedon probably laughed it off when he found out director Bryan Singer was going to beat him to the Quicksilver punch a year before his own Avengers: Age of Ultron, but then likely peed himself in fear when he saw how thoroughly Evan Peters nailed the role. From his ADD tendencies to his Bowie-esque glam getup, Quicksilver easily stole the show from X-Men franchise vets like Hugh Jackman, and the slow-mo scene in the Pentagon set to Jim Croce is one for the ages.
