11 Characters Marvel Studios Should Consider for a Female-Led Movie

#11 CAPTAIN MARVEL

Before she gained powers, Carol Danvers was already a trailblazer for women in comics. An ace pilot in the air force and eventual CIA operative, Danvers quickly became friends with Dr. Phillip Lawson, the Kree warrior who would later be dubbed Captain Marvel. Carol’s genetic make-up was altered in a battle, blending her own DNA with that of the original Captain Marvel and gifting her with her abilities. She originally fought under the name Ms. Marvel but very recently was upgraded to the new Captain Marvel, making her the second female to use the name following Monica Rambeau.

Capable of flying, super strength, speed, and energy blasts, Captain Marvel might have common-place powers in the comics, but in the MCU she’d be one of the most powerful. Carol can fly through space without any need for a helmet, which is likely one reason she joined up with the Guardians of the Galaxy recently.

Rumors of a Captain/Ms. Marvel film have popped up every now and then, but there’s never been an official comment from Marvel Studios about it. Badass Digest claims that the character could appear as a cameo in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, but currently nothing has been announced.

Which female characters do you want to see Marvel Studios bring to the big screen?
