Spidey Turns 50: 11 Villains Who Could Be in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

#6 JACKAL

Professor Miles Warren was a teacher at Empire State University where he met and taught Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy. Warren actually fell in love with Gwen and when she was senselessly killed by the Green Goblin, he blamed Spider-Man for her death. He entered a depression and sought to clone her. When his lab assistant found the human cells to be cloned, Warren accidentally killed him, giving birth to his alternate persona The Jackal. The Jackal has amplified speed and agility but also the highly intelligent brain of Miles Warren.

How could he work in the movie?

I shouldn’t have to spell this out for you after that introduction, but I will. While they might want to keep Peter and Gwen in high school in the films, moving them to college is the next logical step in their growth as people. When they get to college they will of course meet Miles Warren who will begin his obsession with Gwen. Maybe a certain other character would be the primary villain in the direct sequel and set up Jackal for a third entry.

Who should play him?

I thought about this for a long time, but when I thought of this man I wondered why I hadn’t thought of him sooner. Jackie Earle Haley. He’s got the right look to pull of brainy-student-obsessed-scientist and the right smirk to be the Jackal. We also know he’s capable of being a brutal physical force (though that’s not really Jackal’s style) after seeing him in “Watchmen” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street.”
