The Dark Knight vs. the Films of 2012

7. THE DARK KNIGHT vs. KATY PERRY: A PART OF ME 3D

Perhaps the most unlikely crossover on this list, Batman’s run-in with Katy Perry is also the most recent, having occurred less than a year ago in the pages of of the Grant Morrison-scripted one-shot, Batman: Leviathan Strikes!

In the book (which effectively tied up the original run of Batman Incorporated before the “New 52″ relaunch), Stephanie Brown (a one-time Batgirl) infiltrates St. Hadrian’s, an all-girls British private school, in the hopes of uncovering an insidious plot to turn the students into hypnotized ninja assassins. It just so happens that the teachers there bare an uncanny resemblance to a couple different modern pop music icons: Lady Gaga, Rihanna and, the star of her own recent 3D concert film, Katy Perry.

The Perry character (who is never actually named) slips out with the Gaga and Rihanna doppelgangers when Batman himself shows up at the end, telling the school, “Sorry girls, we’re strictly freelance.”

Maybe she can return to menace the Dark Knight another day.
