SHH Video: More Cast From The Amazing Spider-Man

By now, you may have already checked out our interviews with the new Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone or with The Amazing Spider-Man‘s director Marc Webb. Maybe you’ve read our mostly spoiler-free, mostly positive early review of the movie, too.

There’s lot more to the new Spidey reboot than the three primary players, and at the New York junket, ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype had a chance to talk with three other actors from the movie, all playing key roles from the Spider-Man mythos.

Rhys Ifans (Anonymous) plays the film’s primary villain, the genetic scientist Dr. Curt Connors, a friend of Peter Parker’s late father, whose experiments with trying to regrow his arm turn him into The Lizard. Then there’s Martin Sheen plays Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben, the man whose death had such a great impact on Peter deciding to use his spider-powers to fight crime. We also spoke with Denis Leary, who plays Captain Stacy, Gwen’s father and a police office who has sworn to bring in the masked vigilante known as Spider-Man.

In our exclusive video interviews below, Rhys Ifans talks about how playing the transitions between Dr. Curt Connors and the Lizard were more enjoyable than separating his Jekyll and Hyde personas. Leary and Sheen talk about their connections to the comic characters and their interest in playing them, about working with director Mark Webb and Ifans talks about playing a character with a missing arm and how he dealt with having to be a lefty while shooting the movie.

The Amazing Spider-Man opens nationwide in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D on Tuesday, July 3.
