Greg Berlanti on Those Flash Directing Rumors

Last week at ShoWest, ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype had a chance to talk to director Greg Berlanti about his holiday comedy Life as We Know It, starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel.

Berlanti, the producer of the television shows “Everwood,” “Eli Stone” and “Brothers & Sisters,” was announced as the director of Green Lantern way back in October 2007, a gig that ultimately went to Martin (Casino Royale) Campbell, but then a month back, there were rumors that Berlanti was the frontrunner to direct The Flash, so of course, when we had a chance to talk with him at ShoWest last week, we had to ask about those rumors, something that he quickly brushed aside by saying:

“Nah, you know right now, it’s all about… ‘Green Lantern’ just started shooting a couple of days ago and everyone is really excited about that. I’m mostly focused just on finishing up this movie. I haven’t really thought about any of that stuff yet, but just hoping this goes well.”

When asked how the shoot’s been going on Green Lantern, he told us, “Yeah, it’s a dream come true. Martin Campbell is one of the best directors today, and Donald De Line who is producing is amazing, and obviously, everyone is ecstatic about Ryan and Blake and everyone else, so it really is a dream come true.”

You can watch the video interview below at around the 2:40 mark and hear what he said about the two projects and decide for yourselves whether he really doesn’t know what’s going to happen or if he just has a really good poker face. (The interview was done in Las Vegas after all.)

As always, stay tuned to SuperHeroHype for all your DC Entertainment news!
