This concept about using the books for the source material and making the movies more like the comics is fiscally stupid. For one thing, the comics have ran for decades, and to feasibly make a movie involving such a massive story run and written by dozens of different people is simply ridiculous. Second, you are acting as if everyone in the damn world is familiar with everything in the books. The percentage of the world populace that reads or even knows comic books is miniscule by comparison to the whole. But judging from what I've seen over the years, that miniscule, hard fanbase seems to be the ones that are doing most of the whining. It is a movie, designed to be appealing to the general population in an effort to gross a substantial profit. It is not health-care reform. It is not terrorism. It is a movie. Perhaps whining about real issues will help make the world worth living in. Otherwise see the movie or don't. Just don't pretend that the first attempt at a Wolverine movie was any good or made any sense. You've got a great actor and a pile of compelling source material. Now realize that audiences want good movies, not just cool special effects, and spend some time on writing a good script.
