No Keep the original concept idea of the Purple Costume. I like the Hawkeye Mask with the pointy ears... it's what differentiates him from other superheroes. You take it away and he becomes too oridinary. Quit butchering the Marvel universe. - Tony

I think Chris Pine should play as Hawkeye instead of Captain America. Why? Because he's all about having his own way and stuff. So I guess that's it. Once again, Chris Pine should play as Hawkeye for The Avengers movie. - Dimitri

Wow! I just saw the Hurt Locker this past weekend, and I was greatly surprized, both in the realism of the film and the acting. I think Renner would be a perfect Hawkeye. I really hope he makes it. He's not a pretty boy. He can be gruff and humerous at the same time. Both qualities that Clint possesses. He should believeably be able to both storm out of a room because he doesn't agree with the group's tactics, and sling quips with the comedic timing of Spider-Man or Deadpool (comic versions) but still be able to be taken totally serious!
I love that Marvel is hiring people for their films that are known for their acting and not just stars! - caabrae

Maybe change the colors but Hawkeye needs a costume!
Oh & if you think Hawkeye's costume sucks, just remember what Clint Langley & othres have done to make it look bad ass! - Metaladdiction4life

just saying...i always thought the "corny" hawkeye costume was pretty badas and not corny at all. But i'm all for the modernizing, with the exception of the X-men's sweet leather jumpsuits, I thought the new costumes for the rest of the heroes have been pretty awesome thus far. - truth

Wow, half of you sound like I sounded when I was a fanboy, before I grew up. The Ultimates and The Ultimates 2 were amazing books which modernized the Avengers and made them AMAZING. I love the 616 Avengers AND the Ultimates. For a FILM, because you know, we're talking about a MOVIE the Ultimate costumes work better because they won't look FUCKING RIDICULOUS ON SCREEN the way spandex would. With characters like Superman and Spider-man the tights work, but we need practical uniforms for GOVERNMENT SPONSORED HEROES! So before you nerd-rage all over something that HASN'T EVEN COME OUT YET, try to THINK and maybe you'll move past being a FANBOY and become an actual fan who wants justice to the piece to be done ON SCREEN. - Dartfin

"It's going to be a guy in sunglasses and a vest"

Good the last thing I wan't to see is someone prancing around in a purple jackass suite. I was so happy when he started dressing as Ronin.

Some people are so obsessed with classic costumes that they don't realize that a grown man in purple tights looks rediculous.

Comic books are different they are pictures bright pimary colors work well in pictures not real life. - 1manarmy

SO WHAT I'M SAYING IS THIS.... GLASSES AND A VEST........ REALLY! OHHHHH ISMAEL WILL HAVE A LOT TO SAY ABOUT THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!! - Art

BOO HISS!!
Dont these guys get it?! Spiderman, Iron Man, Batman were successful because they stayed true to the nature of the costume. I dont like the idea of Hawkeye being some average schmo with glasses and a effing vest. THAT doesnt make me want to go to the movies. NOw, put him in an interesting costume with a mask and we're in business! - Dvalin

LOL. Yeah, I remember that. Millar's idea of realism. I'm sorry, but that didn't work for me. In fact, I thought it was a ridiculous gimmick. The first ULTIMATES graphic novel was pretty cool and intense, but the second and third were a mess. - Victory

Evil1too. I like Sam Worthington, and he would probably do it very well, but for sentimental, patriotic and symbolic reasons, I really would prefer to see an AMERICAN play Captain America. Mr. Worthington is Australian. You could argue that Sherlock Holmes is being played nowadays by an American, and Batman by a Brit, and you would be right. But there have been dozens of Sherlock Holmes movies and quite a few Batmans, but this will be Cap's big screen debut, and I think at least for a while, the character should be treated like James Bond, who has always been played by a someone from Great Britain.

Darkie1973

You are nit picking. The movie Spidey costume is essentially the same as in the comics. The only reason you couldn't have white webbing in the comics is because the coloring would have taken forever.

Who said anything that Hawkeye will be a special ops agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Some fans of the Ultimates have assumed that, but it doesn't have to be that way. Spider-Man wanted to be in show business but Hawkeye was. Fury could be recruiting him, the same way he did Stark. The classic Hawkeye is a beloved character and many people consider him Mr. Avenger, the Ultimates version did not go very far even though they tried to make him Bullseye part 2. The Ronin thing Bendis introduced doesn't make sense. Even though he was briefly trained by Captain America, Clint never was a polished martial artist before, and when the Avengers movie nears, that strange personna will be abandoned. Hopefully forever.

Superheroes are different because of their costumes. If you eliminate the main element that makes them original, they become another one of those forgettable Hollywood action heroes. That's why Ultimate Hawkeye didn't work, they gave him a mask later, but it didn't work either.

EMBRACE our favorite characters tried and true CLASSIC looks. MAKE MINE MARVEL (MOVIES)! - Victory

@Mark

Neither Batman nor Ironman wear the silver age versions of the uniforms on the big screen; and even though Spidey's costume is the closest,.... it's still different (he's NEVER HAD 3D WEBBING.) Everyone wants to say they shouldn't change anything,.... but every example you all point out,.... HAS BEEN CHANGED. - darkie1973

I can't see why they keep wanting to avoid the old versions of heroes..... the Silver age. Batman and Spiderman wear masks..... Iron Man wears a mask and their films gross fortunes so why can't Hawkeye wear his Hawkeye costume? - Mark
