No wonder it's doing so well. The Twilight audience behaves even more disturbingly weird than most of us do at superhero films. I don't think New Moon will beat TDK's weekend record. It was fantastic directing, acting, and a super tight plot void of flaws that helped this gross such a huge amount. By stating that an actor's death automatically = huge cash, Almost Heroes, Wagon's East, Queen of the Damned, Soul Men, The Twilight Zone Movie and countless others that had a performer die would have made huge bank, but they didn't, they all tanked. Christian Bale is amazing as Batman. He has the looks and the acting chops to portray Batman as more than a caricature unlike the other jokes in the past and Heath not only eclipses any other interpretation of the Joker in history, but he even stands toe to toe with all the great psychopaths such as Hannibal Lecter and Norman Bates.
