The cast was nearly unflawed. There's no need to even try to call Duncan's casting as Fisk wrong, because it definitely right. I also think there are other actors who could play him in a reboot, but I've never had a problem with Duncan. However, I think in a surprise turn Duncan was so close to right that I just can't call it wrong. Although an actor can work out and build muscle tone it doesn't mean that he still has the body type to play a certain character. Don't get me wrong Pierce could would do a good job as Matt Murdock but as Daredevil I don't see him doing it better than Matt Damon. He seems more suitable for the genius and tactful type like Reed Richards. Goodman is to much of an "aw shucks", "beer chuggin", "nice guy to hank out and talk sports with" kinda guy. Coltrane is also too much of a nice guy type and is not brooding and doesn't exhibit the cleverness and tactfulness of Fisk. On the other hand Gandolfini IS from New Jersey which is right next to New York. I was born and raised in New York and Gandolfini has the realest New York mobster swagger and businessman personality. You guys keep forgetting that this is "Hell's Kitchen", Lower West Side of Manhattan!!! If you've never been there then go visit. You need an actor that can pull of a believable New York accent,style,swagger and classiness of Wilson Fisk!!! Goodman has lived in New York for a while but he's too slouchy ,although Duncan is from Chicago(somewhat similar to N.Y)his rendition only resembled that of a high profile pimp,Robbie Coltrane although being Scottish has some potential because he does have the ability to portray a shrewd business man with class although I doubt he could pull of realistic and NOT overly done New York accent or Fisk's gritty side. James Gandolfini highly qualifies.Why do you think his character on The Sopranos has lasted so long and is so acclaimed. I've been around people who are in the mafia a but they kept it quiet and nobody talked about it although they knew and though some of the stuff in the Sopranos is unrealistic or stereotypical,Gandolfini exudes a realness that I have known in some of the mafia people in New York. And though I like the idea of Robbie Coltrane or John Goodman as Fisk, Michael Clarke Duncan is definitely a better Kingpin than Gandolfini would be. I would say that Marvel should say that the name "Fisk" really comes from family name "Fisciante" for short but changed to disguise his family tree or was too hard to pronounce during his ancestor's migration to New York from Italy during the early 1800's. The rest of the cast as I said before should be Jeremy Irons as Dr.Doom,Charlize Theron or Naomi Watts as SUE Richards,a talented new unknown for Ben Grimm and an unknown similar but better than Chris Evans for Johhny Storm. For the role of The Kingpin I would say that if Fox ever does reboot Daredevil the next time around Fox should take a more enlightened approach to casting Wilson Fisk aka ''The Kingpin Of Crime.'' In the 2003 Daredevil film,the reasoning behind casting Michael Clarke Duncan as Fisk was that the Studio couldn`t find a Caucasian actor of the right girth to play the man-mountain Fisk. I like Michael Clarke Duncan but I never thought that Fisk was the right actor to play Kingpin.
