Hey B. Trask, I want to see those vehicles too but I think that they're going to try to 'keep it real'. It might be more in tone with the comics(mainly the post 9/11 series) than with the cartoon. I just want it to be G.I. Joe and not G.I. Joke. - PonchoVilla

PonchoVilla set me straight. I forgot that this movie is more of an origin story. I guess we'll have to wait for the sequel (if there is one) to see updated versions of the Rattler, the Conquest X-30 and other vehicles. - B. Trask

Are you guys still talking about that one comment that kid made about Channing Tatum? IT WAS A JOKE! Get off your pious high horses for a second. Damn, you poeple are just as bad as those guys who called me a 'Nazi' because I said that the Empire should have killed off the ewoks.

As for the movie, I'm not expecting too much stuff from the cartoon/toyline to be in it. It's supposed to be a prequel about how G.I. Joe and Cobra get started. I'll just wait til I see it before I judge it. - PonchoVilla

Thank you The Strongest There Is... I couldn't have said it better. It sucks that I have to filter through so many idiotic posts before I come to a post like yours above. Oh well, it comes with the territory when the internet gives even the stupidest people out there a voice.

Also, I know EXACTLY what you mean when I find a dvd box set of any cartoon I loved growing up, pop the disc in, and then wonder how in the world I tolerated the stuff when I was younger. It's actually a kind of cool moment when you realize how much crap it is; the moment makes you ponder over so many different things -- from kids' tolerance for campy key characteristics that distinguish THIS show from others (look! THIS guy's best friend is a dragon with a machine gun for a tail! etc.) and kids seem to be willing to sacrifice decent plotlines for those goofy characteristics; also, how these shows get pitched to network execs, including how these shows get chosen to air and what kind of crap is actually turned down. You know there has to be the question somewhere in there, "Doesn't this seem a little too cheesy?" followed by the answer, "There kids! They won't know the difference." It's no wonder very few shows in that genre make it past two or even three seasons.

Which also brings up the question: Are kids (including us when we were younger) really that oblivious to story quality? Was it all just pretty images to watch on a screen? Or were we just bombarded with so much crap that our standards were a little bit skewed?

As for Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, they both did an awesome job in the movie Stop Loss.

Although I was at the right age for it when they aired, I never watched Transformers or G.I. Joe when I was growing up -- I'm not sure now why I never watched Transformers, but as for G.I. Joe, it was because war stories never really interested me for some reason. I am willing to see the movie when it comes out, though. - mpw-dude

Okay, two things:

First, I'm glad to hear that there weren't any serious injuries.

Second, I didn't see any "G.I. Joe-like vehicles" in those pictures. No Mini Tank, no H.A.V.O.C., nothing. This gives me a sickening feeling that the movie may be reaching for a Bourne Indentity kind of vibe. If that is the case, I think I'm going to be sick.

I don't want to see a G.I. Joe movie with leanings toward Bourne Identity, or 007 or any thing like that. I want this movie to be blended with G.I. Joe. Period. Is that too much to ask? - B. Trask

I've never seen C.T. act so I have no idea if
he's good or bad. Still hoping he's been seriously
hurt on that alone is truly sick. I know there's
people I don't like very well, but I do NOT
desire that harm befall them. If you do evil
to others and take pleasure in their pain,
then that will come back to you. Remember:
Do to others as you would have them do to you. - Dean74

Arguably, Wayans should have been Alpine. Ripcord is a white stuffed-shirt with native american heritage. Alpine is a witty african-american.

I don't mind Wayans being in the movie. I'm a fan. Perhaps they needed Alpine's personality on a paratrooper.

What I can't understand is using the name Heavy Duty over Roadblock. Ugh.

I hope we see Firefly do a cameo. - Blowtorch

If by dumb ass kid you mean joseph gordon levitt , Hatchet, You are the idiot. He may be the only great superstar actor that This generation has truly produced. I'm not saying he should be cobra commander, BUT anything he does, he does extremely well. Look at the movie Brick, Then check out "The Lookout". Whatever you may think about the movies is not important. One thing is for sure, He acts 100 percent EVERYTIME. He isn't a cliche one trick pony like almost everyone else on the screen these days.

And for all you people wishing harm on non talent hacks, as you would call them. I'm wondering how any of you know about the dude. You must be watching horrible movies and faking on the boards like you hate em. Oh and one more thing Hatchet, If you knew anything about Snake Eyes, you would know that to compare his outfit to a power rangers concept is ridiculous. If anything, the power rangers stole it from G.I. Joe. I personally dont see how anything on power rangers looks similar at all.

Wishing harm on others just makes you sound like an idiot. If anything you should just turn your attention to the idiocy of the production studios and execs. I honestly dont think anything will make you people happy. You love to hate more than you like to hope. If I was an exec that thought i had an audience that wanted to see it, and came on these boards to see what people type, I would make the movie beast as hell and release a statement telling specific people to lick my ass.

One thing you people have to realize is that we all remember how great and detrimental these cartoons were to our childhood. For those of you who really loved it, you've tried to go back and watch them like me. They are nostalgic, but most are nostalgic pieces of crap. The only cartoons that withstood the test of time were Ninja turtles and transformers. If you didn't like transformers, re-evaluate your love for what you THOUGHT you loved. In the end you really Didn't. You're Just another fan boy trying to make themselves important in a forum where we are all equal. This is nowhere near as ridiculous as the JLA concept, but I'll go along with all of it because if they ruin it and flop, it just leaves it up to us to do better. If you cant do any better, shut up! If you dont know how to write a script or draw a comic, Shut up! If you can't be a part of the solution, SHUT...UP!

People need to understand what they are talking about, listen when they dont know, and try to understand it if they were too stupid to do so without someone explaining it to them. - The Strongest There Is...

Too bad it didn't cause a massive explosion and kill them all. This movie looks like ass, The costumes look like a bunch of unpainted Power Ranger outfits, The actors are all worthless with the exception of Dennis Quaid, and whoever decided it would be a good idea to hire that dumb ass kid from 3rd Rock to be Cobra Commander needs to be drug through the desert by a horse and set on fire. I hope, with all my heart that the studio see's some footage and shit cans this whole ball of crap. What a waste of money. Oh well, here's hoping for a large onset explosion that kills the entire cast and crew. - Hatchet
