Had they stuck to the DD which was made and did not even conceive the bastard child which became an actual movie. As for the whining about the costume not being leather, would you really be frightened by a man running around in a red get up like in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back! The leather was a good idea. Are the fanboys not the ones who bleed for realism for the characters who you love so dearly? TDK was praised for its gritty realism. If you want another example of a g4y hood ornament be my guest. The leather was just an attempt at true vigilante realism. But what do I know. I'm just a schmuck who understands what it takes to sell a movie to an average viewing audience. I have the state of mind as well to understand that all comic book/graphic novel movies as well are re-imaginings of characters. How many times has an origin story been written for any given character in Marvel/DC universe? As another movie which should have been sequeled is The Punisher with Thomas Jane. Especially with the DC made it that much better. Jason Statham in a wig and sunglasses is still going to look like a badass. They barely gave lipservice to the fact that Matt Murdock is a great lawyer who loves the law. It is the basic anima that drives the character. Christ! He basically murdered a man in the first 10 minutes of the movie. The whole movie should have been driven by a court case pitting Matt Murdock against one of the Kingpin's cover companies. In addition as Daredevil he is a stellar detective. Did they even address the incredible acuity of his other senses? He can track like a Hounddog, he can read print by touch. Lastly, his secret identity is secret, he would never spar in a park in broad daylight unless it was in the guise of blind bumbling and flailing. Tripping thugs with his cane etc.. The entire interpretation of the character in the film was fail. That's not Affleck's fault.
