Spider-man, of all comic book movies should be the simplest to make. Every kid knows the origin story like they know their ABCs. How hard is it to cast a guy who's good looking but not overly so and can crack a good joke as geeky teen Peter and take it from there? Unknowns in the roles is a great idea. But as far as I'm concerned Fuck that ultimate spider-man idea. They almost had it right last time. Maybe go a little bit darker with the villans and a little lighter with Spider-man? Lame origins for Venom, Carnage, Vulture, Dr. Strange, Rhino, and especially Green Goblin. 3D Spidey would be awesome, but I just don't see what was wrong with the previous Spidey series enough to scrap it all. First the reboot that is unecessary, everybody knows who Spiderman/Peter Parker is. THE only reason they would be doing this is the money, not for the fans. They're giving it to a unexperienced director- just because he can somewhat do a decent teenage-like love story doesn't mean he can do Spider-Man. There's no other reason why they approached him to direct. The Peter Parker love story was so overdone in the movies that it didn't work anymore. Mary Jane, was just there. I have a feeling this will be promoted to the Twilight tweenie crowd, revolving around a high school love story. Man I just had to get that out of me. - J.
